Should My Company’s Website Be Responsive?

Today, Google announced that sites that were mobile-friendly would receive a more favorable ranking http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.com/2015/02/finding-more-mobile-friendly-search.html. This is big news and could affect the way your audience discovers you online. By now, it’s common knowledge that modern devices have shifted the way that people consume content. In fact, statistics prove that more people use their mobile phone to browse the internet than desktop computers. With mobile phones, tablets and desktop computers here to stay, the only way to ensure a worthwhile experience amongst all of these browsing options is to create a responsive or adaptive website. To do this takes careful planning and design. The goal is to provide an experience that suits each device perfectly. If your website is older than three years old and was created prior to responsive web design, then it is likely in need of an upgrade and what better time to consider the design and user experience of your site? Squires & Company has been developing responsive websites since early in their popularity and has a good amount of experience working with the Twitter Bootstrap framework to deliver sites that adapt and respond to any device or platform. Maybe it’s time to dust that old website off and give it the 2015 upgrade it deserves.
